  1. Some of these are a bit My Sweet Lord… I mean descending notes are not copyrighted 3:53. You could put Led Zeppelin Babe I’m gonna leave you and loads of others in there…

Some are obvious rip offs. Then there’s the grey area, rip off or influence.

  2. Damn some of these are crazy insane, but I’m pretty sure some weren’t actually meant to be ripped off and they just sound a lot the same

  3. There’s a difference between “rip-off” and “influenced” and i’m sure many of these songs were a result of listening too much to someone else!

  4. You can’t really have Madonna’s “Express Yourself” here without having “Respect Yourself.” They are pretty much the same song and Madonna complains about Lady Gaga redoing “her” song…

  5. Chord progressions and key’s people, they’re the big factors of making songs sound similar, hell listen to 4 chords by the axis of awesome

  6. Here are a few more…

    Los Brujos – Kanishka (1991) / Nirvana – Very Ape (1993)

    Mad Season – I Don’t Know Anything (1995) / Silverchair – Slave (1997)

    Nirvana – tourette’s (1993) / Silverchair – Lie To Me (1997)

  7. stairway to heaven is not a rip off, they’re similar yes. because they’re in the A minor key. But that doesn’t make it the same.
